出来上がるまでの工程を知ると、愛さずにはいられない「引き出し黒」。この技から生まれた独特の質感が特徴です。シンプルなデザインですが手間と時間のかけかたは沼レベル。
「よく耐えたな」と称えたくなる一品です。

引き出し黒という技法：１２００℃程度で焼きます。通常は窯の中で徐々に温度を下げて冷ましますが、この鉢は、まだ熱々（粘土が真っ赤に燃えてる感じ）の状態で窯から出して水につけて急冷します。取り出すのも大変。とにかく熱い。
で・・・・急冷して割れないの？という疑問があるかと思いますが、割れます。
つまり今ここにあるのは、この過酷な状況を生き抜いた最強の鉢ということになります。

角の鉢は手作業も大変。「型で抜くから楽なのでは？」と思われるかもしれませんが、ろくろ成形よりも遥かに時間がかかります。型に粘土を流して数日間乾燥させ、おおまかな形にした後、永遠に続く「削り」の工程。シャカシャカ形を整えながら30分近くひたすら削ります。「この部分は少し厚めにしないと焼くときに割れやすくなる」とか「このラインが大切」とか頭の中は思考の大渋滞。

シンプルな鉢の背景にある、“いろんな意味で熱いもの”を感じていただけると嬉しいです。

“HIKIDASHI KURO” BONSAI pot that you can not help but love when you know the whole making process.
It's a simple design, but the time and effort required is endless.

HIKIDASHI KURO technique: Temperature in the kiln is about 1200 ℃. Normally, the temperature is gradually lowered and cooled in the kiln, but this pot is taken out of the kiln while it is still SUPER hot (it looks like the clay is burning bright red) and soaked in water to cool it rapidly. So hot that it's hard to take it out. Some might wonder if the pot will crack because of the rapid temperature change. Yes, it will.
What we have here is the strongest BONSAI pot that has survived this tough process.

Polygonal pots are also difficult to work with by hand. You may think "It is easier to pull it out with a mold, isn’t it?", but it takes much longer than potter's wheel molding. Clay is poured into a mold, dried for a couple of days, and after a rough shape, the process of "trimming" continues for nearly 30 minutes. Lots of thoughts go around in the potter’ head: "Without making this part a little thicker, it will be easier to crack when firing", “This line makes the pot more beautiful’, etc.
