素材感がお気に入りの「KOBIKI WHITE」。その名の通り粉引きという技法で作られた盆栽鉢です。食器でも人気の粉引き。白色で清潔感があるのに僅かな色ムラに素材感がある。普通紙と和紙の違いみたいな・・・・そんな感じ。

この素材感は「白化粧」と呼ばれる工程からきています。
通常は粘土で成形→素焼き→釉薬→本焼きなのですが、粉引きの場合は成形→「白化粧」→素焼→釉薬→本焼き。粘土と釉薬の間に化粧下地？なんともオシャレな陶器です。
白化粧の濃いところは白っぽくなり、薄いところは下の粘土の色が出ます。
「かわいく化粧したんだね」と思うと、更なる愛着がわく鉢は、木材のテーブル/机との相性が抜群です。


☆「貼花文」と呼ばれる立体的な模様は、江戸時代に愛知県瀬戸市で広まった「呂宋」と呼ばれる焼き物の特徴の１つです。「呂宋」は当時とても人気の焼き物で、喜多川歌麿の浮世絵にも描かれています。

“KOBIKI WHITE” BONSAI Pot to enjoy its simple yet beautiful texture. As the name shows, the technique of KOBIKI is used.
KOBIKI is very popular among tableware. In addition to the clean image of its white color, the slight unevenness in the color adds special texture. It is like the difference between plain paper and Japanese paper ‘WASHI’.

This texture comes from a process called ‘White Makeup’.
Normal process:
trimming → biscuit firing → glazing → glost firing
KOBIKI process:
trimming → slip(white makeup) → biscuit firing → glazing → glost firing
Base Makeup between clay and glaze (? Wow!)
Thicker make-up part will be whitish and lighter part will have the color of the clay underneath.
This elegant BONSAI pot looks great with a wooden table/ desk.


☆ The pattern called "CHO KA MON" is one of the characteristics of the pottery called "RUSU", which was widespread in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture during the Edo period. "RUSU" was a very popular pottery at the time, and it is also depicted in the ukiyo-e prints of Kitagawa Utamaro.
